Security in development systems
What to do when the auditor comes - Part 2: Authorizations and parameters
Database Schema Privileges permissions: Schema Privileges are SQL object permissions that control access to and modification of a (database) schema, including the objects contained in that schema. A user who has an Object Privilege for a schema also has the same Object Privilege for all objects in that schema.

Locking and validity of the user account is done through the user administrator and is also valid for other authentication procedures. This means that a login via SSO is not possible for an invalid user or a user with administrator lock. We therefore always recommend that you prevent access to the system by setting the validity of users. Setting validity on assigned roles also prevents the user from performing actions in the system, but does not generally prevent them from logging in.
Task & functionality of the SAP authorization concept
You can use authorization objects to restrict access to tables or their content through transactions, such as SE16 or SM30. The S_TABU_DIS authorization object allows you to grant access to tables associated with specific table permission groups. You can view, maintain, and assign table permission groups in transaction SE54 (see Tip 55, "Maintain table permission groups"). For example, if an administrator should have access to user management tables, check the permission status using the SE54 transaction. You will notice that all the user management tables are assigned to the SC table permission group.

If you now want to assign PFCG roles indirectly to users via the organisation management, you have to use evaluation methods. Evaluation paths define a chain of relationships between objects within a hierarchy. For example, they define how an organisational unit or a post can be assigned to another organisational unit. This relationship is set to the User ID. However, if the business partner has also been maintained in organisational management, there is no standard evaluation path for this case and the user assigned to the role is not found. However, since in SAP CRM the user IDs are not directly assigned to a post, but via the business partner, you have to make adjustments to the evaluation paths before you can assign the roles indirectly.

With "Shortcut for SAP systems" you can automate the assignment of roles after a go-live.

Roles can be assigned to users directly through user management in the SU01 transaction, role maintenance in the PFCG transaction, or mass change of users in the SU10 transaction.

New AP implementation, S/4HANA conversion or redesign of an SAP authorization concept - the complexity has increased enormously and requires a clear structure of processes, responsibilities and the associated technical implementation.
