The so-called SAP message server also belongs to the application layer. Only one instance of this server exists in the system. It mediates between the services and applications. In concrete terms, this means that the message server takes care of load balancing and determines, for example, on which application server a user logs on. Communication between application servers is also the domain of this message server.
Parameters in the SAP create a high degree of flexibility. Profiles can be used to configure the system for almost any purpose. But with such a large number of parameters one quickly loses an overview of the influence of each parameter. For storage management alone, there are 20 different parameters that can be changed at different points in the SAP system. Procedure To reset the status of a Support Package or Queue, select Add Status Reset. Result After updating the status, the corresponding entries in the cofile and in the log file are deleted.
