Why should we even have an individual SAP Security Check performed? Your SAP authorisation concept is designed to ensure the security and protection of data against unauthorised access and abuse. The technical complexity of SAP systems and the ongoing adaptations of business processes often lead to unknown security vulnerabilities. In addition, the increasing digital networking with business partners offers further attack points on your SAP system. SAP Security Check gives you an overview of the security situation of your SAP systems. This will identify potential risks that could jeopardise the safe operation of your IT landscape. Your starting situation The ongoing changes in your IT systems lead to unrecognised security vulnerabilities and your auditors will regularly report to you in the final report on abuses in the authorisation concept. The legal requirements (e.g. EU guidelines) to secure your business processes and IT systems have not yet been implemented and the increasing networking with business partners presents new challenges to your security system. The security-related system settings and permissions settings applied to your SAPS systems are poorly documented, which in many cases causes the system settings to allow extensive critical access unchecked. Critical SAP permissions, profiles, and roles identify permissions that allow critical operations to be performed in terms of security or from a legal or business perspective are called "critical permissions" by SAP. The granting of critical allowances must therefore generally be carried out with particular care and should therefore be planned in advance. Technical and organisational measures and processes must then ensure that the desired level of safety is implemented.

Own development testing is very common in the quality system. Therefore, the customising/workbench developments must be transported to the appropriate system. It is highly recommended to use the order type "Transport of copies". This post explains why you should use this type of order and what you need to consider. Transporting copies - Why? All objects on the original transport order remain locked. Only the copies of the objects are transported to the next SAP system. If something goes wrong during transport, objects can easily be recollected or added. In addition, when copies are transported to the test system, no import is created in the production system. The import queue remains clean and clear. The problem with overtaking transports is eliminated. Transporting Copies - Creation To create a transport of copies, call the Transport Organiser through the transaction SE01. Check the Order Type "Transfers of Copies" and click View Create a new order (using the Document icon or F6 key). Then select the order type "Transport of copies". Then define a description and the destination system of the transport. Transport of copies - Add objects The transport order of the type "Transports of copies" was created. Now we want to add the objects of the original to be transported. Unfortunately, not all objects of an order can be copied directly. Therefore, it is important to take the objects task by task. A transport order can contain multiple tasks. Press CTRL+Y to highlight the task ID and then copy it by CTRL+C. Right-click on your order of the type "Transport of Copies" and select the Include objects option. Select the object list of an order and copy in the ID of the task that contains the objects to be transported. Confirm your input. All objects of the order are transferred to the transport of copies. You can then transport the objects to the test system using the normal transport procedure.
User and security management
Reachable at any time: Your competent contact person is available at all times. If you operate SAP Basis Support in your own company, personnel bottlenecks may occur. If your SAP employees are absent due to illness or vacation, there may be no equivalent replacement available.

SPAM/SAINT updates (SPAM update) provide updates and improvements to SAP Patch Manager and SAP Add-On Installation Tool. There is always one SPAM update per review that will be updated over time. The version can be found in the short description, e.g.: SPAM/SAINT update - version 4.6A/0001 A SPAM update always comes first in the list of support packages in the SAPNet - R/3 frontend, i.e. before the other support packages. We recommend that you always install the latest version of a SPAM update before installing Support Packages. Prerequisites You can successfully commit a SPAM update only if there are no broken support packages in the system. If there are cancelled support packages, a dialogue box will alert you. You have two options: You will first complete the queue and then the SPAM update. You reset the status of the queue, play the SPAM update first and then the queue. You can reset the status of the Queue by using the Add Status Reset Queue. Note that your system is inconsistent when you reset the queue after objects have already been imported (for example, after an error in the DDIC_IMPORT step and following). Therefore, you should only reset the queue if DDIC_IMPORT was cancelled before the step. For more information, see Steps of the SPAM [page 26]. Note that starting with SPAM/SAINT version 11, it is no longer possible to reset the queue after the DDIC_IMPORT step and following. How to Check if the SPAM update you are offering is newer than the one you are receiving. The current SPAM version appears in the title bar of the SPAM window. To play the latest SPAM update, select Support Package Insert SPAMUpdate. SPAM updates are automatically confirmed after successful insertion. Load Support Package Usage Before you can insert Support Packages, you must first load the appropriate Support Packages.

With "Shortcut for SAP Systems" a tool is available that greatly facilitates some tasks in the SAP basis.
