This possibility is particularly advantageous when it is a new topic and there is not yet a lot of know-how in the company. Instead of buying an expensive coach to teach employees the basics of a new topic, this means that the knowledge can be made available more cheaply and in a longer term, for example, through an online course.
The support packages were successfully fed into a system (test or development system). You performed the modification synchronisation. Procedure Load the support packages into the next system (quality or production system). You must distinguish between the following cases: Their systems have a common transport directory: Release Level 3.x: If the *.ATT files are not present, run RSEPSDOL in the source system and then RSEPSUPL in the target system. If the *.ATT files are present, run only RSEPSUPL in the target system. Release level 4.x: Select SPAM Support Package Upload in the target system. Your systems do not have a common transport directory: Release Level 3.x: Run RSEPSDOL in the source system to create the *.ATT files if they do not already exist. With ftp, transfer all files with the *.PAT extension in binary mode and all files with the *.ATT extension in ASCII mode from the /usr/sap/trans/EPS/in directory (UNIX and AS/400) or :\usr\sap\trans\EPS\in (Windows NT) of the source system to the target system transport directory. Run RSEPSUPL in the target system. Release level 4.x: With ftp in binary mode, transfer all files with the *.PAT extension from the source system's /usr/sap/trans/EPS/in (UNIX and AS/400) or :\usr\sap\trans\EPS\in (Windows NT) directory to the target system's transport directory. To add additional permissions for defined groups in the launchpad to PFCG roles, follow the steps described above. This time, you only select a "SAP Fiori tile group" instead of a "SAP Fiori tile catalogue". There are very few differences between permissions. Fiori Eligibility for OData Services The launch authorisation for the OData service stored in the backend from a Fiori app is queried on both the front-end and back-end servers when the application is launched. Therefore, this permission must be added to the appropriate role on both servers. The typical sequence of clicking on a Fiori app in the launchpad triggers the following steps: 1) When selecting the tile, the app Fiori implementation is called 2) The app retrieves dynamic data from the HTTP endpoint of the OData service on the frontend server from 3) An RFC call to the gateway activation of the backend system is followed, retrieving the relevant business logic 4) Now the Fiori permission for the corresponding OData service is queried on the backend 5) If this was successful the appropriate business logic permissions are queried in the OData service. To add the Fiori permission to run a OData service for an app to a role, please perform the following steps: In the PFCG, open the appropriate role in Change mode, perform steps on the following screenshot: 1) Select Menu tab 2) Arrow next to the "Transaction" button click 3) Select Permissions proposal.
The core component of SAP Basis is the application layer. It contains one or more application servers and a message server.
Tools such as "Shortcut for SAP Systems" complement missing functions in the SAP basis area.
In the beginning, in our company the installation and management of the systems were dealt with by the functional consultants/consultants of the respective systems.
Due to the large number of different constellations of database and SAP software, the job of an SAP Basis administrator is very diverse.
